About AffordPilot

Know your numbers. Choose your next move.

AffordPilot exists to answer one question well: is this a good idea right now, given what you actually earn and have saved? Most online calculators stop at a single number. AffordPilot goes further — it explains what the number means, shows how safer alternatives compare, and sets out what you could realistically consider next.

Calculate, understand, compare, act

Every calculator follows the same four steps. It calculates the result from the figures you enter, explains the result in plain English, lets you compare hypothetical safer scenarios such as a lower price or a longer saving period, and finishes with practical next steps drawn from your own numbers rather than generic encouragement.

How we build our calculators

  • Every calculation runs in your browser using published, transparent formulas — the maths behind each tool is written out on its page.
  • Rules of thumb are labelled as rules of thumb. Where we use a guideline such as a three-month emergency buffer, a 20% savings rate or the 20/4/10 car rule, we say so and explain what it assumes.
  • Every calculator page includes an explanation, a worked example and answers to common questions, because a tool without context is easy to misread.
  • Currency is a display setting, not a conversion. Choosing a different currency changes how amounts are formatted; it never converts or alters your figures.
  • We publish in small batches rather than generating hundreds of near-identical pages, and we only list calculators that actually exist.

Privacy by design

AffordPilot has no accounts, no sign-up and no database of your inputs. The income, savings and prices you type are processed entirely by JavaScript in your own browser and are never transmitted to us. The only thing stored on your device is your chosen display currency.

Educational, not advisory

AffordPilot provides educational calculation tools. It does not provide personal financial advice and does not recommend specific financial products, lenders or investments. Our calculators cannot see your tax position, credit terms or personal circumstances, so treat every result as a starting point for your own thinking — and speak to a qualified, regulated professional before a large commitment.

Independence and funding

The site is free to use and is funded by advertising. We do not sell financial products, take commission on loans, or pass your inputs to lenders. Advertising never influences how a calculator scores a result.

Limitations

Each calculator works only with the figures you enter and the assumptions stated on its page. Results are estimates: they do not include tax, inflation, changing interest rates or local rules unless a page says otherwise.

Reporting an error

If a result looks wrong, email info@affordpilot.com or use the contact page. Include the calculator name, the values you entered and the figure you expected. Corrections and suggestions for new calculators are welcome.
